OSS have deployed a specific App to assist with the rapidly evolving situation with the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of the communication function of our dedicated Crisis Management Team, the App enables the team to push company news, useful tips, FAQs and the latest Government advice relating to the crisis by using the App as a single point of contact.
As new forms, processes and procedures are urgently rolled out to manage business and HR activities alike throughout this crisis, our App is proving to be an essential tool. External information such as links to government information, dashboards and guidance has all been centralised within the App.
A crucial feature within the App allows staff to set their work status which is essential as working from home or self-isolation requirements become more common place. This provides the management team with a clear view on the current status and location of the workforce at all times and this information can be relayed to key stakeholders.
The App is accessible in both mobile and desktop formats. For desktops, access is via a web browser and has been deployed on SharePoint and on Microsoft Teams. For mobile phones the App is simply downloaded and you’re ready to go.
Further development is ongoing, and new features are being added to gain more data from the workforce to gain close control of the situation. This is where OSS’s expertise in the field of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) comes into its own.
The app can be deployed and implemented within any organisation that has an O365 environment in a matter of hours and at minimal cost. This is to help both employers and employees in difficult times.
